Biography
Cynthya Peranandam is an Emerging Technology Strategist for IBM, launching innovations from IBM’s research and development labs worldwide. Her mission is to find early-stage technologies that can benefit from market feedback to determine commercialization opportunities.
Cynthya has extensive knowledge of the global technology landscape, including new and emerging products, companies, and investment markets. This means recognizing new trends and innovations, especially in relation to Internet technologies and delivery models such as software-as-a-service (SaaS) and the semantic Web.
Cynthya has also been an e-Business Strategist for the Centers for IBM e-Business Innovation, and has more than 10 years of experience at various technology startups as well as public companies. She is a graduate of York University in Toronto, and attended the Anderson Graduate School of Management, UCLA.
She has authored numerous articles on topics such as emerging markets and business models, disruptive technologies and the venture capital landscape.
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Africa and Canada, she now resides in Los Angeles.
